Limited Government VS. Unlimited Government by: Sarah Lusk
Limited- A limited government is where the government DOES NOT have all the power, citizens can vote on laws.
some examples of limited government are:
Direct democracy is when EVERYONE has to vote on EVERYTHING! The people run the government. It was very time consuming, if we had that these days our government would be a catastrophe Nobody would have time to go vote on EVERY LITTLE DETAIL! Eventually people would just stop caring because they know they don’t have time to vote!
Representative democracy is when people vote on officials and the officials represent the state and vote for things based on what the people want.America is under a Representative democracy.
Constitutional Monarchy is when a King or Queen is ruling but they don’t have all the power,it is rule by many.England has a Constitutional Monarchy
Democracy is when the government is for the people ,is ran by the people, and they vote on laws. Another word for Democracy is Republic. It’s a synonym for Limited Government.
Unlimited-The people in control do not have to obey laws, they have no limit in power.THe people have little or no say.
some examples of unlimited government are:
totalitarianism is when the people have no say;someone has total control. It is NOT GOOD! It is a rule by one. It’s root word it TOTAL as in total power.
Dictatorship is when one person has all the power. They are usually men and very threatening.Hitler is a Dictator.
some dictators are:
Hafez al Assad: Syria from 1970-2000
Yuan Shiakai: Republic of China from 1912-1916

Absolute Monarchy is when there is a King or Queen who as all the power. In England they have Kings and Queens but they dont have ALL the power.Qatar is an example of a place that is under Absolute Monarchy, Under the rule of Emir Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani.
Oligarchy is when only a FEW people rule the government, usually about 3-4 people. This GOvernment type is like dictatorship but has a couple people instead of one. Some countries that have oligarchy governments include China, North Korea and Venezuela.
Anarchy is when there is NO GOVERNMENT AT ALL! Everyone can do what they please.Presently, the closest country in anarchy is somalia,Africa and possibly Yemen which is near Saudi Arabia.
